Welcome to the visual chronicle of the George familys life and travels.
- Doing It All
It was a crazy busy Saturday in Norman. We took in Touch-A-Truck, Pablo had a soccer game, then the Lebanese Festival for lunch, a couple of stages at the Norman Music Festival, then Save the Frogs at the Sam Noble Museum of Natural History. Tonight the kids are off to Bart Conner Gymnastics for free play while Kendall and Claudia get a parents' night out.
- Just a few pics from the Medieval Fair of Norman
Spent a few hours at the Medieval Fair. These pictures aren't at all representative. Angela, Ana, and Claudia were with us. Not only did we watch some guys fight with swords and lances, we also got hot and thirsty.
- Spring Break, March 2012
We visited friends in Texas on our way to Padre Island near Corpus Christi. We had a BLAST camping on the beach.
- Family Day @ Fred Jones, Jr. Museum of Art
- Blanchard Springs Cavern & the Ozark National Forest
On Presidents' Day Weekend we took a road trip the Ozark National Forest in neighboring Arkansas. We took a head lamp tour of Blanchard Springs Cavern--about an hour underground. We saw some great stalactites, stalagmites, columns, cave coral, terraces, curtains… and bats. After the tour we spent a couple of hours hiking a trail from Blanchard Springs to Mirror Lake. The weather was outrageously great for February and the rain held off.
- Lebanon
Kendall spent 10 days in Lebanon between December 27, 2010 and Jan 6, 2011. Here are the best pictures from the trip.
- Back To School Fall 2010
Dropping the kids off, their first day of school this school year at Washington Elementary. Ana starts kindergarten, Pablo third grade and Angela fifth.

Like salmon returning to spawn... Well, we went to California for summer vacation. Good times.

We had a fun time at Grandma's house--dinner, cupcakes, and carving pumpkins.
- Things To Do In Oklahoma
- Turner Falls, Labor Day
On Labor Day we fought the temptation to just sleep in and went to turner falls. We hiked for a bit to explore some caves and then swam at the falls. A good time was had by all.
- Lake Tenkiller Weekend
Since we spent so much time in California this summer we barely got a chance to visit our favorite Oklahoma lake before summer was over. But we did.
- Elk Mountain Hike
We hiked to the top of Elk Mountain in the Wichita Mountains in Oklahoma. Elk Mountain is 2270 ft. The hike is a gain of about 600 feet from the Sunset Picnic Area. The trail to the summit is about 1.1 miles. We hiked around the peak where the landscape changes dramatically and requires a bit of bouldering. It was a great day for a hike in August--hot but not too hot and there was a little breeze. The kids did great. Ana made it to the top without any help and Kendall only carried her on the way down.

- Summer Vacation
Here's a "best of" collection from our summer vacation in California and Oklahoma.
- Chasing the Dragon
One recent Saturday afternoon Pablo and Kendall joined friends to track down the elusive "thub," a giant lizard common to the Arabian Peninsula. After nearly an hour of driving over bumpy desert, we nearly gave up. Then we spied a modest sized beast, tracked him to his lair, wrestled him free and subdued him.
- Kuwait
We flew to Kuwait for the weekend for a conference and got to enjoy some quality family time before Kendall left for a 10-day business trip to San Francisco.
- Jassariya
One afternoon before it got too hot we took a trip north of Doha to check out some prehistoric rock carvings at Jassariya. There isn't much known about these mysterious carvings of flowers, fish, boats, scorpions and geometric shapes. But it was fun to get out doors and climb all over the rocks. You can find more information at http:.//www.heritageofqatar.org. We also had a picnic dinner.

- Christmas Road Trip
We had 11 days off for Christmas and the Islamic holiday, Eid Al Adha, which just happened to coincide this year. Our plan was to drive through Saudi Arabia and visit friends in Oman and the United Arab Emirates. However, two days before the holiday began we did not have our transit visas from the Saudi embassy. But the day before the holiday began, we got our visas, booked a hotel in Oman, and Saturday morning hopped in the car and took off. Not a lot of planning, but in the end it was an easy trip and a great way to see Oman and the UAE.

- Best of Summer Vacation
These are Kendall's favorite pictures from our summer vacation.
- Christmas Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka is a fantastic place to visit. The people are friendly. Everything is very affordable. The Indian Ocean is very comfortable, even at Christmastime. The traffic is terrible so getting around is a pain, but once you arrive at your destination everything is very fun and relaxing. We spent several days of our Christmas vacation in Sri Lanka. We spent most of the time in Colombo at the Mount Lavinia Hotel. But we also spent two days driving up to Kandy and back. The trip up to Kandy is slow, but there are many interesting places to stop along the way, including an elephant orphanage. We stopped at a nearby place where you can take a ride on a pachyderm.
- Mount Baldy
On July 2, 2005, a group of friends and I embarked on scaling Mount San Antonio, popularly known as Mount Baldy. I've been looking at Mount Baldy out of my office window in the distance for the past year and recently started thinking to myself, "I should go climb that." Well we did and here are the pictures to prove it.

- Back to Bahrain
We spent a few days visiting friends in Bahrain in the spring of 2004.
- Saudia Arabia Road Trip
In May we got to do something few people ever get to do--set foot in Saudi Arabia. We took a drive trhough a small stretch of the Eastern Province from Qatar to Bahrain. the desert changes many times on this short stretch of road, from nothing but sand to rock, from totally baren to lots of small desert plants. It is really quite remarkable.

Claudia put together a bride-themed party for Angela's fourth birthday.
- Pablo's First Haircut
At 18 months, Pablo got his first haircut. He didn't enjoy it.
- Duning
There is little to do in Qatar that is more fun than driving straight down the steepest part of a 10 storey sand dune. These pictures may not comunicate just how steep and big these dunes are, but this is slip face driving and they are as steep as any slip face, 42 degrees.
- Palm Tree Island
This is a small private island accessible by ferry. This is a great day for the kids and adults, too.
- Halloween
Angela as a ballerina and Pablo as a Puppy at Doha Fellowship's Halloween Party.
- Kenya
Christmas 2002, we were blessed and surprised to take a trip to Kenya. I would imagine even people not living in the Middle Eastern desert would overdose on the lush green scenery. Awesome views, weather, and people.
- Pablo!
Here are some pics from the special day Pablo was born after a relatively short totally natural labor and delivery.
- Oklahoma
Between living in Jordan and Qatar we returned to the US for the birth of our son, Pable. These are some pictures from out time in Oklahoma in the summer of 2002 at Kendall's mother's home and at Lake Tenkiller.
- Jordan
We first visited Jordan in the Spring of 1999. We went back to live there in July of 2000 and stayed for two years. We visited and took pictures of most of what Jordan has to offer. These are some of those pictures.
- Bahrain Trip
We made our first trip to Bahrain in January of 2002 with a group of friends. Being relatively open socially, Bahrain attracts visitors from all over the region, especially across the bridge from Saudi Arabia. Bahrainis are also terrifically warm and friendly people.
- Summer Vacation in Turkey
Kendall had the opportunity to study for a month in Istanbul in 2000. Claudia and Angela joined him for the last week or so. We also took three days at a resort in Turkish Cyprus. It was perfect. Turkey is a marvelous place. It is not hard to take pictures that look just like postcards. See what I mean.
- More of Baby Angela
More pictures of Angela. These pictures cover her first eight moths or so. It was a busy eight months. We moved to drove across the United States and then moved to Jordan. Just the beginning of a little life of adventure.

- Kendall's "Business Trip" to Sicily
In the spring of 1999, me and a bunch of "friends" in the Air Force traveled to Sicily to do a little project related to stopping the Serbs from exterminating the Kosovar Muslims in Kosovo. Here are some pictures from that trip.
- Kendall's "Business Trip" to Kuwait
Late in the summer of 1998 I deployed to Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait in support of Operation Southern Watch. I spent most of my time on base, however I did get off base a bit. Here are some pics getting to Kuwait and then a couple of trips off base, once by land and once by air.
- Our First Trip to the Middle East
We took three weeks in the spring of 1998 and tooled around Palestine, Israel and Jordan. We were considering moving to the Middle East to live and wanted to have some first hand experience on the ground before making that leap. This is what that looked like.
